... wish that that's all this travel were. but unfortunately, it's serious business. resident permit applications. packing up and putting all our stuff into storage. saying bye to all the people i've worked with for the past 6.5 years, at least the few i like. making sure taxes are all submitted and paid before leaving. changing my mailing address for everything. finalizing flights. figuring out which 15 shirts will make the cut into my single suitcase. figuring out my new "work uniform." figuring out the whole export/import process. actually finding stuff i like enough to want to sell. finding bird's nest in europe. missing out on nephew #1's 2nd birthday. missing out on nephew #2's 1st birthday.

what did i sign up for?? oh right, gotta work for what you want. totally looking forward to getting rewarded for what i choose/want to do. getting freshly printed pretty business cards. exploring new cities. making new friends around the world. creating my new identity/wardrobe (it's like dressing myself for college all over again after 13 years of uniforms and dress codes!). sending postcards to everyone back home. seeing taiwan for the first time. experiencing the flavors of hokkaido. trying nordic food beyond fish and meatballs. tasting german rieslings in germany. coming home to a new apartment that i get to furnish and decorate for the long-term. ordering and receiving goods. starting a business from scratch. and doing it all with my most favie person.
